ABOUT ME

Marissa Domantay (They/Them) is a queer Filipino-American illustrator, animator, and cartoonist. Marissa graduated from Connecticut College with a BA in Art (and minor in mathematics).

They are passionate about telling unique and silly stories through their cute and whimsical art style. Their stories are pulled from their personal backgrounds, identities, interests, and hobbies. They want to illustrate children's books and graphic novels that feature underrepresented, diverse identities and stories.

Marissa previously worked as a Publishing Coordinator at Sequoia Kids Media and has freelanced as an illustrator since 2022. In 2025, they were a SOHO House and PB Rising Stars Mentee. Both mentorships focused on expanding and uplifting their online content and children's book portfolio. They also run an online business and sell their works at markets and conventions.

When Marissa is not doing art, they love to interact with online fan spaces, play video games, and read comics. Most notably, their fan works and content has been shared, featured, and used by celebrities and companies such as C2E2 and actor Neil Newbon's Streamily.
